Ladies and Gentleman, tonight Iello Games is proud to present the fight of the century! In the red corner a giant robot bunny, her opponent in the blue corner godzil… GigaZaur! Let’s get ready to rumble!!
Is a combat game that involves dice, cards and a very small board but it certainly packs a Punch! Play mutant monsters, gigantic robots and other monstrous creatures, while you joyfully whack your opponents, rampage through the city and become the one and only King of Tokyo!
Roll and re-roll your dice using a Yahtzee mechanic. Combine your dice to gather energy, heal your monster or just slap others. Spend your energy to trigger permanent or one-shot special powers. Stop at nothing to become the King of Tokyo… but that’s when the real trouble begins for you!
“Why cant I heal in a major metropolitan area?!” , because you cant heal in tokyo… this is a really great light weight game, especially for folks just getting into the hobby and for kids. Lots of brights colors, a familiar mechanic and a super fun concept.
Wake your staff up early, leaving them grumpy all day, so you can be the first to buy your paints and finish the work assigned by the bishop. Oh the life of a master painter.
Each round begins with players deciding what time they would like to wake up for the day. The earlier you wake up, the earlier you will be in turn order, and the better options you will be guaranteed to have. Wake up early too often, however, and your apprentices will become unhappy and stop working as efficiently. They would much rather sleep in!
Then, players decide their actions for the turn, deploying their apprentice work force to various tasks. You’ll need to buy paint, mix paint, work on painting the fresco, raise money (which you’ll need to buy the aforementioned paint!) by painting portraits, and perhaps even send your apprentices to the opera in order to increase their happiness. Points are scored mostly by painting the fresco, which requires specific combinations of paints, so you’ll need to buy and mix your paints wisely, in addition to beating other players to the paints and fresco segments you would like to paint.
This is a solid game. There are a ton of options to push you towards winning and aside from a grumpy dude at our table the game was really fun! This is a medium weight euro and a great way to spend a few hours with friends.
Big thanks to James Ernest, one of my favorite game designers. He is the lead designer of Cheapass Games and an all around fun dude, and we had the opportunity to learn this game from him!

In GIRL GENIUS: THE WORKS, each card is a cog in a giant machine made up of a twelve-card tableau. On their turn, players flip, spin, and “pop” cards, which interact in different ways. Depending on the situation, cards can pop individually or in chains, giving you extra points, more cards, or something else entirely! The first player to 70 points wins!
Each card features unique, never-before-seen illustrations by Studio Foglio, the creative machine behind the steampunk webcomic Girl Genius.
This is a must add to any game collection. An awesome 2 player game, I cant wait to get my hands on… once the retail copies make their way to market. This has quirky way of setting up the play area, a lattice, but it makes all the sense once you start playing.
A big thanks to Sarah from Undine Games for coming to RinCon to teach her awesome game!

The mind really can shape reality! Scientists have invented a machine that can tap into a person’s dreams and make them real. However, only the strongest minds–those who can control their dreaming–are able to utilize the machine. Thus Project Dreamscape was created to find the ultimate dreamer.
Participants (Players) collect dream cards on their turns with the goal of chaining matching dream types together. The more dream cards a participant chains together, the more points that chain will score. The participant with the most points at the end of the game is the winner!
There are 8 dream types in the 52-card sleep deck, each of which appears exactly 13 times. Each dream card depicts 2 different dream types. Whenever you collect a dream card, you must choose one of the dream types to perform and follow its directions. Collect “Z” card in your deep sleep pile as money but be aware that money counts against you at the end of the game.
This had a really neat mechanic and buying system. The idea is awesome, and though the game designer Sarah said she felt some of the language was too technical, I think it showed great thought and care that had been put in to the making of the game. Also the art work is wonderful! If you get a chance give this game a go, if you can buy it do so. You will not regret it.
Will your influence be enough to control the galaxy?
To be entierly fair… I won a free copy of this game at RinCon 2018! So my opinions may be skewed.

Will your influence be enough to control the most powerful planets in the galaxy? Will you be able to meet your secret objective along the way? Will your empire stand victorious?
In Tiny Epic Galaxies each player controls a galactic empire, aiming to expand their influence by acquiring highly contested planets and increasing their cosmic armada. The game revolves around an innovative dice-rolling combo mechanic. The number of dice you roll is determined by the strength of your galaxy.
Each die is engraved with symbols representing the actions you can take. Actions such as moving a spaceship, increasing your culture or energy resources, or advancing your political or economic influence over newly discovered planets.
Players will colonize new planets throughout the game, earning victory points and accumulating special abilities which they can activate for their galactic empire.
I plan to play the living daylights out of this game. It is light weight and easy to learn. I would be comfortable having younger gamers play this and I am certain I could get any level of gamer into this game.
